Drivekey sits on the bus between the Wii motherboard and the DVD drive. It transparently monitors all data transmitted. When a backup disc is inserted DriveKey emulates an original game disc by transmitting and patching necessary data. DriveKey has full control and can read the entire DVD media.

The Drive key requires absolutely no soldering and works on every single drive which means checking serial numbers is a thing of the past. However the performance of the drivekey limits the the DVD reading speed to 3x (From 6x) which may cause some stuttering in some graphically intense games. This problem doesnt occur in other modchips such as the wiikey2/d2sun as they dont sit between the drive and the mainboard.

Super easy to install with triwing screwdriver. (Some sellers are selling non-upgradable units for this price!)
